Christ Suffered

Here's a drawing of mine I did many many moons ago.

"Your Father knows what you need before you ask him. This is how you are to pray: ‘Our Father....’" (Matthew 6:8-9)

First Violin Recital

Last Sunday was Zack and Vincent's first recital. Vincent was on the practice box, Zack had just gotten his real violin a few days before. It was really cute. Since neither of them have learned a song yet, they did the rhymes and other motions with the other students. When it was time for a few solos, the instructor asked who would like to do a song, Vincent with his box and wooden stick enthusiastically raised his hand. Everyone giggle at that handsome little boy who could only play a note with his lips. Zachary eagerly awaited his turn and only played a little during another child's solo and then was given the chance to make an attempt at his own. The instructor accompanied him on piano as he played the Flower Song rhythm, but still has yet to learn the notes. The final laugh was when it was time for the little kids to go sit with their parents, Vincent stayed with the teacher and asked very loudly, "Do you know how much fire wood I can carry?". You had to be there.

(10-16 points) You are Garfield :You are very comfortable, easy going, and you definitely know how to have fun but sometimes you take it to an extreme. You always know what you are doing and you are always in control of your life. Others may not see things as you do, but that doesn't mean that you always have to do what is right. Try to remember, your happy spirit may hurt you or others.

(17-23 points) You are Snoopy:You are fun; you are very cool and popular. You always know what's in and you are never are out of style. You are good at knowing how to satisfy everyone else. You have probably disappeared for a few days morethan once but you always come home with the family values that you learned. Being married and having children are important to you, but only after you have had your share of fun times

(24-28 points) You are Elmo:You have lots of friends and you are also popular, always willing to give advice and help out a person in need. You are very optimistic and you always see the bright side of things. Some good advice: try not to be too much of a dreamer. Dreaming too big could cause many conflicts in your life.

(29-35 points) You are Sponge Bob Square Pants:You are the classic person that everyone loves. You are the best friend that anyone could ever have and never wants to lose. You never cause harm to anyone and they'd never "not" understand yourfeelings. Life is a journey, it's funny and calm for the most part. Stay away fromtraitors and jealous people, and you will be stress free.

(36-43 points) You are Charlie Brown:You are tender, you fall in love quickly but you are also very serious about all relationships. You are a family person. Youc all your Mom every Sunday. You have many friends and may occasionally forget a few Birthdays. Don't let your passion confuse you with reality.

(44-50 points) You are Dexter:You are smart and definitely a thinker... Every situation is fronted with a plan. You have a brilliant mind. You demonstrate very strong family principles. You maintain a stable routine but never ignore a bad situation when it comes. Try to do less over thinking every once in awhile to spice things up a bit with spontaneity! Now don't spoil it! Have some Fun!! Change the subject of the email to what you are and send it on!

Ash Wednesday

The act of putting on ashes symbolizes fragility and mortality, and the need to be redeemed by the mercy of God. Far from being a merely external act, the Church has retained the use of ashes to symbolize that attitude of internal penance to which all the baptized are called during Lent. — Directory on Popular Piety and the Liturgy

Wild Childs

Well, what a nite (two nites ago). Didn't get around to posting this till today as yesterday I was a busy bee putting my house back in order. Surprisingly I was quite calm and actually humored by the destruction! Sunday nite we had our pray and play bible study group and towards the end of the evening, we oblivious adults noticed what the kids were doing all evening... The major blow was to the lady bug bean bag in the homeschool room. Little white balls all over the place! Picture this, the kids tossing them in the air yelling "it's snowing, it's snowing". Vincent was making a snow angel saying, "Look mom, I'm a snow angel". I immediately responded with "YOU'RE NO ANGEL!". (Although I call him one every bedtime.)

Zachary of course helped with the vacuuming the next morning and Vincent was banned from the tv for the day. I will withhold the other children's names to protect the not so innocent. Next step, super glue those zippers in the bean bags.

BUDDY!

Here's our new pup. We've had him about a month and a half. He's a cutie named Buddy. He's almost 4 months old and is a Pomeranian and Chihuahua mix. The first couple pics are from when we first got him and the last is from the other day.

Are you a Candy Heart or a Candy Fart?

I am a Candy Heart

You're definitely a pro when it comes to romance.
Plus you probably smell and taste pretty darn good.

Mysterious Chocolate Chip Cookies

I just had to make them. This afternoon I was considering it, but decided to pass. Until a couple hours later, Zack requested a chocolate chip cookie without any previous mention of it. It may not seem strange that a kid asks for a chocolate chip cookie, but these kind of "coincidences" happen often between Zack and I. So here are the boys, enjoying their destiny snacks.
