The Fun in the Sun Trip

Monday, May 23, the kids and I climbed into the car early in the morning and drove to San Diego. Here we are at the end of the afternoon... on the beautiful beach of Coronado. We saw a really cool sand castle built by

Vincent built a sand-boat. The sand was so powdery and white.
The next day we spent hours at the beach and the pool.

There's our hotel in the backround! The famous Hotel Del Coronado. We got to stay there courtesy of Jason's employer. Of course he had to work the whole week. We barely saw him. :(

Zack's Hotel shot!

And Francesca's.

Veronica was happy to be free in the sand.

The water was chilly but of course the boys got completely soaked.

This was taken in the pool area.
The hotel at dusk.

The kids loved the spa.

Francesca floated around saying "hello" and "I swim" to all the other hotel guests.

The girls and I went on a walk while my dad took the boys fishing.
Francesca and I shared a bowl of clam chowder at this restaurant.

Then she loved tossing coins in this fountain.

Veronica slept through the whole walk.

Our last full day there was spent at the San Diego Zoo.

Zack and Francesca loved feeding this friendly goat.

Vincent was happy to see the cute pandas.

And very excited to see this two headed California King snake!

The sleeping Koalas looked so cuddly.

The day we left San Diego we drove to my sister Kathy's.
Here's my nephew Christian and Zack wrestling.

We met our dad at a Ventura Beach one of the days.
Veronica loving the sand again.

It was too windy though so we packed up and hit the park.

My dad's friend, Kenny, accompanied him on the trip.

Vincent's First Holy Communion

Mother's Day, May 8, was the day of Vincent's First Holy Communion. It was such a special day. My guy was so handsome and happy. Thank you Lord for this precious son and sacrament!

It was an extra special occasion because our dear friend, Gabriella, also received her first Holy Communion. She was so beautiful and sweet!

These two have known each other since she was 1 and he was 2.

Here she is with her little sister, Lucia, my God-Daughter!

And their mommy and littlest sister Marianna!

On the way to the special 3pm Mass, we saw Zachary getting dressed to serve as an altar server.

Francesca and Lucia - God-sisters - on their way to the church.

I didn't actually see him receive Jesus (the church was packed!), but here is a photo of him shortly after.

And outside posing for a group photo.

We had a combined party at Gabriella's house.
